The Cultural Activities are at the core of school life and The Ummed International School is no different. The rich and vibrant Cultural Programme of the school enables us to fulfil our objective of providing holistic education. Public Speaking, Story Telling, Dramatics, Debating, Western Music, Indian Music, Art and Craft, History, Geography and many other Societies have been formed keeping in mind the need to nurture future leaders.

While the Cultural Activities give the children confidence, they also help them explore different strata of their hearts and minds to find order and meaning in their tumultuous adolescent years. Such activities allow them to voice their views, however unorthodox. We attempt to churn something within, something that shakes and simmers and seethes inside, gestates and finally manifests itself in words, or mere cacophony, or may be a beat here, a flourish there.

Visual and Performing Arts encourage independent and creative thinking and enable the children to find a place where they belong, thereby giving them the right perspective to life. This constructive engagement will give the children a voice to their opinions and also teach them to appreciate other divergent opinions. They’ll realize it is possible for conflicting opinions to co-exist in the real world.

The Co-curricular and Cultural Programme of the School is run through various Clubs and Societies which meet once a week, normally over the weekend. Various Intra and Inter House Programmes are conducted, thereby giving opportunities to children to participate in one activity or the other. We also encourage our children to participate in various Cultural Inter-School events within and outside the country to give them the necessary exposure and confidence, such important prerequisites in today’s world.
